A truck driver was detained for questioning after ramming his vehicle into several men who were changing a flat tire on a highway, according to police in Malaysia.
Kuala Langat police said that the 57-year-old truck driver remained at the scene of the accident, which occurred on Friday around 1:00 p.m.
According to the police investigation, 49-year-old Leong Chee Keong, Md Monirul Islam, and another person who was not identified, stopped in the shoulder of the Elite Highway.
The three men got out of the vehicle in order to change a flat tire. While changing the tire of the Mitsubishi Triton, the truck lost control and rammed into the three men.
All three men died at the scene. Investigators believe that the weather did not play a role in the incident. The truck driver sustained minor injuries and was taken to a hospital for treatment before being taken into custody.
The truck driver will remain in custody until police get the results of blood and urine tests.
