A man in Vietnam, was shocked to learn that he had been living with scissors in his stomach for many years, following a car accident.
54-year-old Ma Van Nhat of Thai Nguyen, said that he may have been living with the scissors for 18 years.
18-year-old ago, the man was involved in a car crash and was hospitalized. He underwent surgery as part of his recovery at the Bac Kan General Hospital.
It seems like the surgeon accidentally left the surgical scissors inside his body. The scissors made its way near the man’s colon, and became stuck to nearby organs.
Last month, the man had been taken to the hospital following a car accident. Doctors took X-rays, which showed that the man had scissors inside his body.
Doctors carried out a three-hour procedure to remove the rusty scissors. The man said that he felt no pain during all these years until recently when he began experiencing stomach pain.
He took painkillers, but they did not relieve the pain.
The Health Ministry has ordered the Bac Kan General Hospital, to reveal the identity of the surgeons who left the scissors in the man’s stomach.
Hospital officials said that they cannot reveal the information as they don’t keep records for more than 15 years.
