Governor Mohammed Bindow of Adamawa State has described the  Federal High Court’s dismissal of a forgery case against him as “a victory for the people of the state”.

Bindow said this in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria in Yola on Monday while reacting to the verdict of the Federal High Court sitting in Abuja which struck out a  suit by a civil society organization, accusing him of certificate forgery.

The governor, who spoke through Mr Macaulay Honuhashi, his Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, said that the dismissal of the suit did not come to him as a surprise.

He said that such a case of forgery did not exist, adding that the allegation was based on the figment of the imagination of the petitioners.

The governor called on the members of the aggrieved All Progressives Congress family to unite towards winning the forthcoming governorship election in the state.

Bindow said that he remained focused on delivering on the mandate given to him to enable him to govern the state.

The Incorporated Trustees of Kingdom Human Rights Foundation International, a CSO, had petitioned the court, alleging that the governor falsified his education certificate submitted to the INEC, to qualify him to contest for the office of governor.

The High Court in Abuja dismissed the suit for lack of jurisdiction.
