Authorities in the North Cyprus on Wednesday announced stricter measures after a steady rise in coronavirus cases, including temporarily revoking special permits given to people crossing to the south for work.
According to reports in Turkish Cypriot media, authorities have decided to impose a curfew between December 31 and January 4, (including both dates) from 10pm to 5am. It has also been decided that between December 31 and January 3 (both dates included) no more than 10 people can gather in houses.

In addition to banning events and all kinds of entertainment activities in open and closed areas for the New Year, it was decided that all events such as weddings, cinema, theatre, birthdays, religious services, engagements, exhibitions etc. will he suspended until January 3.
It has also been decided, among other things, to hold the semester break in primary and secondary schools earlier this year, between January 4 and 15. The semester break in North Cyprus is usually in late January, early February.
Authorities also announced that operations of private courses and study classes institutes would be suspended between December 31 and January 18.
