“Two Bright Stars”

We were two bright stars in the same sky,
Sisters not by blood, but by bond and by why.
Known to both homes, our laughter would ring,
On school visiting days, we shared everything.

Gifts came in pairs, like our dreams and our plans,
We walked side by side, hand in hand.
Life was a canvas we painted with grace,
Until time took a turn, and we lost pace.

One stepped through the gates of a campus anew,
The other kept knocking, with hope that grew.
From daily chats and emojis that danced,
To silence that settled, no second chance.

I reached, I waited, I wondered, I cried,
Till the ache turned quiet and the tears dried.
No harsh words, no bitter ends,
Just the fading echo of once-best friends.

I gathered my pieces, stitched up the seams,
And walked toward the light of my own dreams.
Like they say, when one chapter is done,
Another begins, beneath a new sun.

No bad blood, no blame to assign,
Just a story that paused at its own design.
We were two bright stars, once aligned in the night—
Now shining apart, still carrying light.
