Former U.S. Mayor Mike Arnold Accuses Reno Omokri of Misrepresentation and Manipulation

Mike Arnold, a former mayor from Blanco, Texas, has publicly accused Nigerian activist and media personality Reno Omokri of repeated misrepresentation, manipulation, and dishonesty in a scathing statement released this week.

Arnold, who has previously collaborated with Omokri on advocacy efforts related to religious persecution in Nigeria, detailed a series of alleged incidents that he says reveal a pattern of deceit. The claims span personal interactions, public appearances, and advocacy missions.

According to Arnold, Omokri falsely claimed ownership of luxury vehicles in a social media video, which Arnold says belonged to a friend. He also alleged that Omokri misrepresented planned meetings with high-profile Nigerian officials—including President Bola Tinubu, National Security Adviser Nuhu Ribadu, and the Sultan of Sokoto—during a recent fact-finding trip.

Arnold further accused Omokri of staging photo opportunities and taking credit for advocacy work that Arnold says he personally funded and organized over several years. “He took credit for trips I’ve funded, planned, and endured,” Arnold stated.

The former mayor also refuted Omokri’s televised claims that Arnold is the current mayor of Blanco and a Republican party official. “We don’t even have partisan municipal elections,” Arnold said, adding that he has not been active in any political party for three decades.

Arnold’s statement included strong moral and religious condemnation, accusing Omokri of downplaying the severity of Christian persecution in Nigeria. “Lying to inflate yourself is one thing. Lying to cover up the Christian genocide raging in Nigeria is a bridge too far,” he wrote.

The post concluded with a warning to Nigerians and international observers not to trust Omokri’s public persona, describing him as “calculating” and “self-serving.” Arnold also claimed Omokri harbors political ambitions, including a potential bid for vice president under NSA Ribadu—a claim that has not been independently verified.

As of publication, Reno Omokri has not publicly responded to the allegations.
