The meeting, aimed at resolving disputes between Dangote and Nigeria’s regulatory authorities, included key figures from the oil and gas sector:
- Farouk Ahmed, Authority Chief Executive of the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA)
- Gbenga Komolafe, Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC)
- Mele Kyari, Group Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation Limited (NNPCL)
Background of the Dispute
Recent conflicts escalated when the NMDPRA stated that the refinery, located in Ibeju-Lekki, Lagos State, had not yet been licensed for operational commencement. This regulatory hurdle has created significant tension between Dangote and the authorities.
