Kano Deputy Governor Issues Apology to Ribadu, Retracts Allegations Amid Emirship Dispute

It seems like there was some miscommunication or misunderstanding regarding the involvement of the National Security Adviser (NSA) Nuhu Ribadu in the Kano emirate tussle.

Kano State Deputy Governor, Aminu Gwarzo, has retracted his earlier statement accusing Ribadu of interference. Gwarzo apologized to the NSA, acknowledging that he was misguided in making his initial statement.

Gwarzo clarified during a press conference that the Office of the National Security Adviser refuted the allegations and distanced itself from the situation. He admitted that they had been misled into believing that the NSA was involved. Gwarzo extended his apologies to Ribadu for any embarrassment or inconvenience caused.

The NSA’s office had denied the claims made by the deputy governor, stating that Ribadu did not facilitate the return of the dethroned Emir of Kano, Aminu Ado Bayero, to the city. The NSA emphasized that he did not provide the aircraft for Ado Bayero’s return and threatened to take legal action against the deputy governor for defamation.

This retraction and apology indicate a resolution to the misunderstanding and aim to mend any strained relations between the deputy governor and the National Security Adviser’s office.
