โAzeez Fashola aka Naira Marley has been taken into custody for interrogation and other investigation activities,โ Lagos police command spokesman Benjamin Hundeyin said late Tuesday.
Ilerioluwa Aloba, better known as MohBad, was a former signee of Naira Marley, and it is anticipated that he will provide assistance to the police in their investigation.
Although the musician has been charged with being involved in Mohbad’s death, he has vowed to clear his name and had already confirmed his arrival in Nigeria before the police’s statement to assist the investigation into the death of his former signee.
Iโd like to share that Iโve just arrived back in Lagos, Nigeria to assist the authorities with the ongoing investigation. Itโs important I do my part for Imole. Iโll be meeting with the police with hopes for the truth to be uncovered and for justice to prevail.

Tuesdayโs move is the latest development following Mohbadโs death. He died in questionable circumstances with claims that he was abused before his passage.
Since his demise, Nigerians have demanded an investigation into the circumstances surrounding his death. There were protests in several parts of Nigeria as young people poured into the streets to register their grievances over the singerโs death.
Although Mohbad was buried less than two days after he died, police authorities exhumed his remains. An autopsy was later conducted but the result is not yet out.
The Federal Government has also waded into the matter with the Senate visiting the late singerโs family and observing a moment of silence over the starโs demise.
Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu also asked the Department of State Services (DSS) to join the probe, promising to ensure justice was served.
