Two Syrian nationals were arrested on the grounds that they had entered the northern part of Cyprus in violation of the military forbidden zone.

Both suspects were brought to court and sent to the Central Prison, not exceeding one month.

Police officer Mahir Türe gave information about the incident in court.

The police said that on September 10, two Syrian nationals were found to have violated the first degree military forbidden zone and entered illegally, and they were arrested.

Stating that the investigation initiated regarding the issue was completed and the suspects entered the country illegally, the police demanded that they be held in pre-trial detention in order to be ready for their cases, since they do not have a legal status.

Evaluating the testimony given in his presence, Judge Hazal Hacımulla ordered that the two suspects, who do not have legal status, be kept in prison for a period not exceeding one month.
