Ceylan Erdoğan, Hivay Gülişan Öztürk and Şebnem Ağırgün, who performed botox and filler procedures without permission at Ago Beauty Center operating in Kyrenia, were sent to prison to stand trial.
Barış Oral, the operator of the Ago Beauty Center, where unauthorized fillers were made and turned out to be illegal, and Ayşe Horon, who had botox procedures done in the workplace were released with a guarantee.
The police who made the investigation, on 27 August 2022 in Girne said that it was determined that the suspects Ceylan Erdoğan, Hivay Gülişan Öztürk and Şebnem Ağırgün had acted against the Law of the Medical Association by performing botox and lip augmentation procedures without the permission of the authorities in the Ago Beauty Center operating at the address of Orhan Durusoy Street and managed by Barış Oral.
The police stated that the suspects Barış Oral, Ceylan Erdoğan and Hivay Gülişan Öztürk were caught red-handed, and Şebnem Ağırgün was later arrested.
The police announced that they had seized various brands and amounts of botox and filling materials, injectors and needle tips that the suspects had brought to the TRNC without being declared to the customs.
The police officer also stated that they found 48,210 TL, 1,800 Euros, 450 pounds and 500 dollars in cash.
The police stated that as a result of the investigation, Ceylan Erdoğan and Hivay Gülişan Öztürk performed an unauthorized botox procedure in another beauty center operating in Kyrenia between 29 July-1 August.
The police stated that Ayşegül Horan, the operator of the beauty center in question was also detained.
The police said that the suspects made a statement and declared that they had taken action against about 50 people. It was also detected that Ceylan Erdoğan, Hivay Gülişan Öztürk and Şebnem Ağırgün entered the country on August 26.
The police demanded that Ceylan Erdoğan, Hivay Gülişan Öztürk and Şebnem Ağırgün be held in pre-trial detention, and that other suspects be given security.
The Prosecutor’s Office demanded that the three suspects who entered the country on tourist visas be sent to prison for a period not exceeding 15 days, and that the other two suspects be released on guarantee.
Horan’s lawyer Seren Palabiyik and Oral’s lawyer Yağmur Girgin did not object to the terms of collateral.
