Police officer Süleyman Açıkada, who gave sworn testimony in the court, reported the facts.
The police stated that the suspect Kerim Muhammed Yeşilkayagil, who was present, was accused of “injuring and carrying unlawful knives, drunkenness”.
Kerim Muhammed Yeşilkayagil, a resident of the same place, illegally carried a wooden handle knife with a total length of 24 cm and a mouth length of 12 cm, on the grounds that Derviş Aksoy cursed his mother while under the influence of 63 ml of alcohol on Surlariçi Abdiçavuş street in Lefkoşa at 23:45 yesterday.
It caused a 3cm incision by inserting it on the knee and upper leg 2 times, 2.2cm incisions by inserting it into the rear upper leg, a 3cm incision by inserting it into the left hip part, and causing a 1 cm incision by inserting it into the navel, and after seriously injuring the named person, he left the scene.
He explained that he fled and threw the aforementioned knife into the side of a business called Simit Dünya, which operates on Girne Street.
The police stated that the knife was found at the place where it was thrown on the same day and that there was an indication, and that the suspect was identified and arrested on the same day as per the pending order obtained from the Nicosia District court.
At this stage, the police stated that the investigation of the matter has just begun, and the statements to be taken are the camera footage to be examined and demanded that the suspect be detained in the police for 3 more days.
Evaluating the testimony given in his presence, Judge Nil Elodie Çeliker ordered the suspect to remain in police custody for 3 more days so that the investigation could be conducted safely.
