The suspect O.O, who attacked the police officers who warned him on the grounds that he was disturbing the people around Hamitköy, was arrested and brought before the court.
Police officer Süleyman Açıkada, who reported the incident at the court, stated that the suspect was accused of “Battering the Police, Dismissing the Police, Disturbance, Inappropriate Attitude”.
On September 19, at 7.15 pm in Nicosia, while the police were walking along the road on Atatürk Caddesi, the suspect acting senselessly and trying to enter houses, the police officer A.G, who was going to the scene, pushed him in the chest and put his head in the face of another police officer V.Ö.
The police officer said that the suspect hit and battered them and prevented them from doing their duty.
Police said the suspect was later arrested for flagrante delicto while he acted inappropriately by shouting loudly and making a fuss and shaking his hands and arms indiscriminately.
At this stage, the police demanded that he be detained for 3 more days, as the legal status of the suspect and whether he has committed any crime in the area will be investigated.
Evaluating the testimony given in his presence, Judge Nil Elodie Çeliker ordered the suspect to remain in police custody for 3 more days so that the investigation could be conducted safely.
