It was reported that the source of the foul odor heard throughout Nicosia was the manure that a Greek Cypriot farmer threw in his field in the buffer zone.
According to Haravgi newspaper, the source of the foul odor in “Kaymaklฤฑ”, “Ahlacia” (Entertainment) and other areas in Southern Nicosia in the last few days was the manure that a Greek Cypriot farmer poured on his field in the buffer zone, behind the “Sopaz” region.
In the news, it was also stated that after the Greek Cypriot farmer did not know that it could cause such a bad smell, he received instructions from the United Nations (UN) to make deep plowing in his field in order to reduce the smell.
