E-Visa Automation System is ready for tender, says Minister of Interior

A security meeting was held under the chairmanship of Interior Minister Ziya Öztürkler. Minister Öztürkler stated that the E-Visa Automation System is ready for tender and budget approval has been received from the Ministry of Finance.

At the invitation of Ziya Öztürkler, a security meeting was held at the ministry today at 14.00.

At the meeting, all stakeholders were consulted regarding the planning of studies to be carried out to protect national security and public peace, the integration of immigration systems in cooperation with stakeholder institutions, the strategies to be followed and what needs to be done in addition to the measures taken so far.

Minister of Interior Ziya Öztürkler stated that the Immigration Amnesty, which will be released in October, is very important in terms of ensuring registration in the country, and that they are working in consultation with all relevant institutions for the successful completion of the process by acting in a multi-faceted manner.

Explaining that 1500 foreigners were deported due to being involved in crime or staying in the country irregularly.

According to the latest updated figures, within 4 months in the light of the works carried out for the protection of public peace, Minister Öztürkler said, “We act with zero tolerance for foreigners who disturb the peace of the country, we are working towards structuring the immigration systems according to the conditions of the day”.

However, our main goal and vision is to ensure control by filtering the undesirable people involved in crimes that will disturb the peace of the country, whether they come under the guise of students or as tourists, before they enter the country.

Expressing that the tender preparations for the E-Visa Automation System were meticulously prepared by the IT Department of the Ministry of Interior, as a result of long meetings held with all relevant department IT officials, Öztürkler announced that as of today, budget approval has been received from the Finance Ministry for the E-Visa Automation System.

Another important subject of the expanded security meeting is the determinations and recommendations of the Higher Education Planning, Supervision, Accreditation and Coordination Board (YODAK) on student registrations, immigration procedures and the control of passive-active students in the Ministry of Education Higher Education Registration System (YÖKAS). The deficiencies observed by the Police Immigration Directorate were discussed in detail.

Minister Öztürkler stated that it is expected that there will be a density in the registrations of universities with the date of September 30, and that both the Immigration Department and the Education Department are responsible for this.

He stated that the Ministry of Health is working in coordination to determine the deficiencies on the system, to make arrangements quickly, and to work in a multi-faceted way to achieve a system that will meet the needs of the day.

Underlining that they will work together with all relevant stakeholders for the security and peace of the country, Öztürkler stated that “Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Education and Ministry of Health also contributed significantly to the formation of the E-Visa Automation System”.

Öztürkler stated that they shared the statistical data on foreigners in prison with the representatives of the institutions participating in the meeting, and that all stakeholders were informed about the studies carried out in the immigration systems, and what steps could be taken by the relevant institutions in their areas of responsibility were also discussed.

YÖDAK President Prof. Dr.Turgay Avcı , YODAK Board Member Prof. Dr. Okan Veli Şafaklı, Ministry of Labor and Social Security Undersecretary Ecevit Alper, Ministry of Education, Higher Education and Foreign Relations Director Behçet Çelebi, Education Joint Services Department Director Gökmen Davutoğlu, PGM Immigration Manager Fevzi Öztümen, Ministry of Interior Undersecretary M. Mesut Ener, Ministry of Internal Affairs Immigration Department Manager Erhan Akar, Central District Governor Hüseyin Gültekin and all district governors attended.

Minister of Internal Affairs Öztürkler expressed that he believed that after the very productive consultation meeting, each institution would take quick steps in the areas of responsibility that falls under its responsibility, and thanked everyone who participated in the meeting and shared valuable information and contributed to this important issue.
