A 41-year-old was remanded by Paphos District Court on Sunday over a case of passport and credit card forgery.
Police said an investigation began in June 2018 when Europol Germany tipped Cypriot authorities off that the man had previously been arrested in Germany over forgery of bank cards and there was evidence showing that he resided in a specific apartment in Cyprus.
Europol Germany requested Cypriot authorities investigation.
On June 26, 2018, based on a court warrant, police searched the apartment and found ten passports, numerous mobile phones, eight computers, a bank card printing device, and other items.
An arrest warrant was issued against the 41-year-old who by then had already left Cyprus in March 2018.
Shortly after 1am on Sunday when the 41-year-old arrived at Paphos airport from another European country he was arrested.
The same morning, he was brought before the Paphos district court which issued the four-day remand against him.
