On 20 August 2022, at 09.40 am, the police were stationed in Girne, where they were working illegally alongside 47-year-old Mehmet Kurt, a resident in Famagusta, who was subcontracting the construction of Enes Teke’s construction in Alayköy Organized Industrial Zone, 2nd Stage, 23rd Street.

He told that Uğur Gün was seriously injured when the wall collapsed on him while he was demolishing with Kango from the back of the wrongly made room partition wall on the 2nd floor of the construction.

Police arrived at the scene and Uğur Gün was taken in an ambulance to Dr. Burhan Nalbantoğlu Nicosia. Police stated that after his first intervention at the State Hospital, he was taken under observation in the intensive care unit and survived the danger of life.

The police said that Mehmet Kurt was found to have acted negligently and was arrested as per the pending order.

The police demanded that the suspect be placed on security that the court deems appropriate.

Evaluating the testimony given in his presence, Judge Hazal Hacımulla ordered the suspect to be tried pending trial on the condition that he will be banned from going abroad, appear in person to the police once a week, deposit 10 thousand TL in cash collateral, and 1 credible TRNC citizen sign a surety bond worth 75 thousand TL.
