KIBTEK: A Former General Gürcan Erdoğan And His Driver Sentenced To Prison

Gürcan Erdoğan, a former general manager of the Turkish Cypriot Electricity Authority (KIB-TEK), and his driver, Hüseyin İnce, were sentenced to 18 months in prison as a result of the trial today.

Erdogan and his driver were investigated for corruption.

Both men were in pretrial detention pending trial.

What had happened?

He had completed the report of the Prime Ministry Supervisory Board on the issue of ‘overtime’, which was also reflected in the public opinion.

Prime Ministry Supervisory Board; In the examination conducted for the period of June 2016-January 2018, he found that the overtime of TL 64,671.32 was paid irregularly and held Gürcan Erdoğan responsible for TL 61,423 and H.İ for TL 3,247.65.

The report was sent to the prosecutor’s office by the Prime Ministry’s Supervisory Board. On behalf of the Kib-Tek Board of Directors, lawyer Emre Efendi went to the General Directorate of Police and filed a criminal complaint against both names.
