JC, who was arrested in connection with the attempted murder incident in Çatalköy was brought to court yesterday.
Police sergeant Ömer Faruk Şengil said that the suspect attempted to kill Tobi Isaiah Akıntemi (E-41) by wounding him in the stomach with a 35-centimeter knife as a result of an argument that broke out between them due to cleaning at a construction site in Çatalköy on 16 August at 12:00. Şengil, Dr. Burhan Nalbantoğlu stated that after the intervention at the State Hospital, he was observed in the Tiryaj Intensive Care Service and that his life was in danger.
Şengil said that the knife used in the incident was in evidence. Şengil stated that the suspect was identified and arrested in Girne during the police investigation into the attempted murder. Stating that the investigation is continuing, there are statements to be taken, there are camera footage to be examined, he demanded that the suspect be detained for 2 days.
The court accepted the request.
