Police Arrest Suspected Notorious Cultist On Wanted List In Ogun

The Ogun State Police Command on Wednesday said it has arrested a notorious cultist/armed robbery suspect, Christian Peter, in Mowe area of the state.

Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Abimbola Oyeyemi, disclosed this in a statement issued to journalists in Abeokuta.
He said the suspect, who has been on the police wanted list for a long time, has been responsible for many criminal acts in the state.
“The suspect who has been on the wanted list of the command for quite some time now was arrested while the Divisional Police Officer, Mowe Division, CSP Folashade Tanaruno, was on routine patrol of Mowe/Ofada road. He is one of the hoodlums terrorizing Mowe/Ofada axis in recent time,” he said.
The suspect was allegedly sighted by the Divisional Anti-Robbery Team on the premises of a hotel in the Olororo area of Mowe with a waist bag.
While noting that the suspect attempted to escape upon sighting police operatives, Oyeyemi said he was however apprehended.
According to the police spokesman, a locally made double barrel pistol loaded with four live cartridges was recovered from him while his waist bag was searched.
Reacting to the arrest, the Commissioner of Police in the state, Lanre Bankole, ordered the immediate transfer of the suspect to the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department for discreet investigation.
