The House of Representatives on Tuesday passed a resolution to investigate Monday’s attack on the Abuja-Kaduna train by bandits.

The investigation will also include the invasion of the tarmac of the Kaduna Airport by bandits last week, who delayed the take-off of an aeroplane.

The report on the findings is to be laid before the House in four weeks.

The session, which was presided over by the Deputy Speaker, Rep. Ahmed Idris Wase, urged the Federal Government to urgently review the security situation at the country’s airports, rail lines and stations.

Among those invited to answer questions in the course of the investigation were the Inspector-General of Police, Mr  Usman Alkali Baba; National Security Adviser, Maj.-Gen. Babagana Monguno (retd.); Minister of Transportation, Mr Rotimi Amaechi; and the Managing Director of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria, Capt. Rabiu Yadudu.

A member from Enugu State, Rep. Nnolim Nnaji, moved the motion that led to the House resolutions.
