We are committed to passing NYSC Trust Fund – Rep Member


The Deputy Chairman, House Committee on Youth Development, Honourable Mohammed Ari Abdulmumin has assured that the proposed bill for the establishment of NYSC Trust Fund will certainly be passed arising from the support it is attracting in the house. 

He stated this during an exclusive interview with NYSC News crew in his office at the National Assembly complex, Abuja.

Ari who represents Nasarawa/Toto Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives said the bill which has passed second reading is a necessity as it will address challenges confronting the Scheme including infrastructural deficit and funding for Corps Members to start their  businesses, which would  also stem the tide of graduate unemployment in the country.

He said the date for the public hearing of the bill will soon be announced, while he urged stakeholders in the NYSC to endeavor to leave up to their responsibilities to enable optimum discharge of the Scheme’s mandate to the nation.

The lawmaker who commended the Director-General of NYSC, Major General Shuaibu Ibrahim and the management of the Scheme for the immense achievements recorded in the last two years, said NYSC is delivering on its mandate of fostering national integration.
