Gbajabiamila, former colleagues meet, share memories

The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rep. Femi Gbajabiamila, and former members have held a meeting, where they shared memories of their time in the legislature.

It was a reunion of sorts, where Gbajabiamila, a fifth-term lawmaker met and exchanged banter with his former colleagues.

Addressing the members at the meeting, which was held in Abuja, Gbajabiamila said it was gratifying to see the faces of the former members, most of whom he had not seen for a long time.

The Speaker said, “Thank you very much for coming. The honour is actually mine. Anyone can invite anybody to a meeting, but the question is whether people will attend.

“That is why I am particularly grateful that you attended.

“I am happy and gratified. The agenda is friendship, not politics please.”

The members were elated over the speaker’s initiative, praising him for being the first speaker to called former members together for a reunion of this magnitude including former members who served in the second Republic.
