Minister Sunday Dare pays Condolence visit, consoles Akala’s family


Chief Sunday Dare, the Minister of Youth and Sports Developement and the Agbaakin of Ogbomosoland today paid a condolence visit to the family of late Otunba Alao Akala, a former governor of Oyo state. 

The Minister, reportedly cut short his trip from the African Nations Cup in Cameroon on hearing the news of Alao Akala’s passing. 

Addressing the press at the deceased’s Opadoyin Lodge in Ogbomoso, Sunday Dare said Ogbomosoland  just lost one of her most respectable sons who brought glory and added recognition to the town. 

“It is difficult to accept that Otunba Alao Akala is no longer physically with us. It’s a bitter bill to swallow. There’s so much that reminds us of who he was, what he stood for and what he did not just in Ogbomosoland but in Oyo State generally. This bereavement permeates the entire Ogbomoso, we lost a son. A good one”

Chief Sunday Dare prayed with the family of the deceased and encouraged them to depend on God’s strength in this trying time. 

Otunba Alao Akala passed on yesterday at the age of 71.
