APC Drums Support For Military’s Anti-Banditry, Counter-Insurgency Efforts


…Akpanudoedehe Decorated with 2022 Armed Forces Remembrance Emblem 

The National Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Caretaker/Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee (CECPC), Sen. John James Akpanudoedehe has been decorated with the 2022 Armed Forces Remembrance Day Celebration Emblem by officials of Nigeria’s Ministry of Defence. 

The event which held at the Party’s National Secretariat in Abuja also witnessed the decoration of other senior staff of the Party with the Emblems. They are: Director of Administration – Alh. Abubakar Suleiman; Director of Publicity – Salisu Na’inna Dambatta; Director of Welfare – Dr. Anietie Ofong; Director of Finance – Abubakar Suleiman and Director of Research, Planning and Strategy – Barr. Barth Ugwoke. 

In his remarks, Senator Akpanudoedehe acknowledged the military as “dedicated”, and said the outfit had fought relentless battles to maintain Nigeria’s territorial integrity and internal peace. 

Akpanudoedehe said the country’s military deserves the commendation and support of Nigerians, noting that the Military has demonstrated professionalism and gallantry in its operations, particularly anti-banditry and counter-insurgency. 

“They have also demonstrated loyalty to the Nigerian flag and commitment to the Nigerian public. It is our duty to appreciate what they have done. 

“The military have been there for us in the insurgencies and the banditry going on in the North East and other areas in the country. 

“So far so good the Armed Forces are giving the terrorists a good fight and have dismantled them, especially as we have recorded successes in many areas. 

“Even during the Niger Delta agitation and in the South East, the military have been there for us, they have always showed loyalty to Nigerians, so as a party, we stand with them and the widows the fallen heroes làeft behind” he said. 

The APC scribe appealed to Nigerians to always support the military in any way possible, adding that they should be commended for their zeal and commitment despite daunting challenges. 

The 2022 Armed Forces Remembrance Day Celebration Emblem and Appeal Fund was launched in October by President Muhammadu Buhari GCFR, who is also the Grand Patron of the Nigerian Legion. President Buhari enjoined Nigerians to appreciate and identify with the sacrifices of our fallen heroes, and wear the emblems in their honor, while any goodwill accruements therefrom should be used to cater to the needs of their widows and children.
