Engagement in sporting activities promotes healthy living – Belgore


The Permanent Secretary in the Interior Ministry, Dr. Shuaib Belgore, has encouraged Civil Servants across all MDAs  to actively participate in  Sporting activities in order to promote personal healthy living and also to  inculcate the spirit of sportsmanship as this will greatly  enhance physical fitness since majority of workers sit in their offices for a long time. 

Belgore stated this today while answering questions from media reporters during the Federation of Public Service Games (FEPSGA) October   monthly walking jogging exercise at Chief MKO Abiola Stadium , Abuja, and this shall be the last excise for the year 2021 before the  games to be held in Kwara state.

The Permanent Secretary who was decorated  as the Captain of this Month of October exercise, enjoins all Civil Servants to consciously  engage on sport activities to enhance their  physical fitness and promote brotherhood  among the  MDAs .

Dr.Belgore also encouraged  Permanent Secretaries of other Ministries to make adequate provision for proper sports kits for staffs to motivate them to keeping fit always.

It is also heart warming to note that the Interior Ministry came first  and won the best Award in the  best well behaved  staff category.

Other Permanent Secretaries present  were Mrs. Didi Walson Jack, Ministry of Water Resources , Pharmacist Olusola Idowu, Ministry of  Budget  and National Planning and the Representative of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation  Mrs Titilayo Akpayo.

Other highlights of the event were the presentation of awards to different MDAs who participated actively during the exercise .

It was a very colourful and worth while excise and coming together of official colleagues who have not met for a long while.
