Akwa Ibom keeps to its promise of improve staff welfare

In keeping to its commitment to staff welfare and improved living standards of citizenry, the Akwa Ibom State government has rolled out packages to public servants and retirees through the Office of the State Accountant- General.

A statement by the Commissioner for Finance, Dr Linus Nkan indicates that aside from the prompt payment of August salaries to staff, government has paid the 2021 leave grants to thirty Ministries, Departments and Agencies while more MDAs will be taken care of in subsequent months.

In another commendable gesture, government has released funds for payment of gratuities to public servants who retired from the state’s employ.

 The release further advises retirees to check the list of payment with the Office of the State Accountant–General from Wednesday, 1st September, 2021.

Public servants are hereby urged to give their best in the discharge of their daily routines so as to provide essential services to the people as well as reciprocate government’s disposition towards staff welfare.
