The new President of the National Pensioners in the person of Professor Godwin I. Akwumuisi with the Executive members of the National Union of Pensioners (NUP) lauded Senator Hope Uzodimma on good works and performance in handling the affairs of the Senior citizens of the State.

According to Mr. Gideon I. Akwumuisi, the first president of the National Union of Pensioners from Igbo extraction stated “you are not one of the Governors that owe pensioners”.

He also commended the Governor for full payments of Pensioners and further requested for the settlement of the “insignificant few” in the State.

Senator Hope Uzodimma in his address commended the pensioners on a solidarity visit and promised that the Shared Prosperity Administration will continue to support the pensioners, partnering with the leadership with more policies and works for their satisfaction

In response to the prayers of the pensioners on the recovery of the missing bailout funds during the past administration and the corruption that ate deep into the system which caused them to be owed for years, Governor Uzodimma stated that his government has been on the revolution of recovery even with the more than 120 court cases to stop his efforts but “we are not deterred”.
