The Commandant of the Nigerian Defence Academy, NDA, Major General Sagir Yaro has commended the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, describing the agency as the driving force in the fight against corruption in Nigeria.
General Yaro made the commendation on Wednesday June 9, 2021 during a courtesy visit to the Kaduna Zonal office of the Commission.
The Commandant who spoke through the Academy’s Director of Administration, Navy Commodore A.I Saleh said the visit became imperative in view of the heightened security challenges in parts of the country, adding that it was important for security agencies to close ranks and collective fight the scourge of insecurity.
He noted, with delight that part of the mandates of the EFCC is to fight terrorist financing.
Responding the Zonal Head, EFCC Kaduna, Harry Erin, described the visit as timely, stressing that it will further deepen the existing ties between the two agencies.
He acknowledged the critical role which the NDA had played in the training of officers of the Commission, and assured of continuous collaboration with the premier military training institution, in the greater interest of Nigeria and the fight against corruption.
