Speaker Femi Gbajabiamila mourns Odumakin

The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rep. Femi Gbajabiamila, has expressed sadness over the death of the National Publicity Secretary of Afenifere, Yinka Odumakin.

The Speaker said Odumakin’s life and time would not be forgotten easily as he contributed immensely in promoting the ideals of the Afenifere group.

Gbajabiamila also noted the invaluable contributions of Odumakin to the entrenchment of democracy in Nigeria, especially his struggles during the military era for the return of democratic rule.

In a statement by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to the Speaker, Lanre Lasisi, the Speaker said Odumakin meant different things to different people and that he would be remembered and sorely missed by many.

Gbajabiamila sent his condolences to his wife, Dr. Joe, the Afenifere family and prayed to God to rest his soul.
