AKSG set to organise first-ever workshop on environmental health

Akwa Ibom State Government (AKSG) through the Ministry of Environment is set to organise a first of its kind sensitization workshop for food and beverages operators in the state.

The Commissioner for Environment, Sir Charles Udoh disclosed this to journalists in his office yesterday. He said the idea of the workshop arose  from the growing public concerns and complaints about the quality of environmental and health status of hotels, restaurants and eateries in the state. 



The workshop which is organized in collaboration with the Nigerian Environmental Society (NSE) will focus on food safety, environmental health and operational standards/requirements. 

At the end of the workshop, participants are expected to be well acquainted with global best practices in environmental health standards as well as specific requirements for Akwa Ibom State.

The Minister of Environment; Dr. Mohammad Mahmood Abubakar is expected to declare the workshop open.

The one-day programme which will attract over 400 participants drawn from food and beverages sector, will hold on Tuesday March, 30, 2021 at Watbridge Hotels and Suites, Uyo.
