The Imo State Governor Senator Hope Uzodimma disclosed that prior to his emergence in Governance, Imo State was a cemetery, destroyed by a combination of both politicians and civil servants.

This he disclosed during his address at his grand reception by the Oru Nation.

The Governor admonished corrupt civil servants to change for the good development of Imo State.

“I call on civil servants, who follow politicians to steal Government properties, sell government guest houses for their selfish gains, if you don’t change, the politicians will not change” Uzodimma stated.

Gov. Uzodimma stated that some civil servants turn blind eyes with their knowledge of the ills going on in the civil service as their fellow workers collect double payments from different local government and departments, while Government bleeds.

“You are there, when thousands collect pension money when you know they are not pensioners” Uzodimma stated.

Governor Uzodimma called on Imo civil servants to be more proficient so as to make more profit for their good and the good of Ndi Imo at large.

“I came from the private sector and that there is no how you can make profit if you are not proficient” Uzodimma stated.

He however warned all corrupt civil servants to change from their corrupt ways or be ready to face the wrath of the law as he has come to manage the Government and the administration of the state as a prudent and proficient leader for the profit and benefits of Imo people.

Governor Uzodimma also said that union leaders should be workers currently in service and not political card carriers retirees, who cannot protect the interest of the workers, but rather cause disaffection amongs workers.

The Governor said he will in the coming weeks make public the payroll system so that Imolites can know the real pensioners and workers.

He maintained that he will never be blackmailed into doing the wrong thing.
