Osun workers have hailed the Governor Adegboyega Oyetola administration for prioritising workers’ welfare.
They said the governor’s commitment to good governance, transparency and accountability prevented industrial action in the last 24 months.
The workers spoke at the 2020 Civil Service Productivity Lecture, Awards and Colloquium organised to commemorate the second year anniversary of Oyetola in office.
It was held at the Staff Development Centre, Abere, Osogbo.
The state Chairman of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Comrade Jacob Adekomi, said the current administration has displayed sincerity and honesty in the management of the state’s resources than for any worker to agitate or embark on any strike.
Head of Service, Dr. Festus Olowogboyega Oyebade, eulogized Governor Oyetola for redefining the civil service through his prompt response to workers’ welfare and well-being.
Governor Oyetola hailed the doggedness, resilience and commitment of the workers, which he described as the driving force for the smooth relationship between the government and the workers and among the workers.
He acknowledged the support and understanding displayed by the workers since the inception of his administration, noting: “Workers are our pride and we are immensely proud to have them as dependable partners in our quest for building the Osun of our dreams.
The All Progressives Congress Elders Caucus, Afenifere socio-political and cultural group and House of Assembly Speaker Timothy Owoeye congratulated Governor Oyetola as he marks his second anniversary in office.
A statement by the Chairman of Osun APC Caucus, Chief Sola Akinwumi, said: “We wish to heartily congratulate Governor Oyetola on the ways God is sustaining his administration in the past two years.”
Speaker Owoeye described the two years of Oyetola-led administration as successful, as it had performed wonders in the transformation of the state.
Owoeye, in a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Kunle Alabi, praised Governor Oyetola for embarking on projects, fulfilling his obligations as well as making life meaningful for the people through prompt payment of salaries, pensions and the recent salary increase.
Afenifere in a statement by the leaders of the group, Osun former deputy governor Adeleke Adewoyin and Lekan Megida, through the Publicity Secretary, Mr. Adebayo Temitope, described the two years of Oyetola as “remarkable and momentous years full of great achievements.”
