Governor Uzodimma’s effort receives support


It was fabulous in Ihiteukwa Community in Orsu LGA of Imo State as Imo State Hon. Commissioner for Entrepreneurship and Skills Acquisition, Noble A. Atulegwu together with Commissioner for Youths & Social Development, Hon. Dan Ogu and Commissioner for Special Projects, Hon. Simon Egbegbulem, stormed Ihiteukwa Community to officially open for use an ICT Center built for the free training of youths on ICT skills.

The Commissioner for Entrepreneurship and Skills Acquisition, Hon. Noble A. Atulegwu who was the Special Guest of Honor in the event conveyed Governor Hope Uzodimma’s praise to Sir Joesph Egbenwoke who equipped and donated the ICT Center as part of his contribution to the ongoing skills empowerment of Imo youths by the shared prosperity Governor of Imo State, through the new Ministry of Entrepreneurship and Skills Acquisition.

Hon. Noble A. Atulegwu said; “with skills our unemployed youths will conquer the menace of unemployment as there is no white-collar job available to engage all the unemployed youths. Hon. Atulegwu who is nicknamed “empowerment Commissioner” charged the youths present to embrace the opportunities his Ministry is creating to aid them become productive and useful to themselves and the State.

Speaking further, the Hon Commissioner advised the youths to guard the ICT Center jealously against those who would want to vandalise the Center for their negative motives. He admonished their parents present in the event to train up their children rightly to become good members of the society. 

Sir Joseph Egbunwoke the donor of the ICT Center, in his speech said his gesture to lay a solid foundation to empower and equip the youths to be self-reliant and more useful to the society was inspired by God Almighty. He equally said this desire to explore the area of youth empowerment was borne out of the need to compliment the effort of the shared prosperity government in the areas of computer education, skills acquisition and entrepreneurship orientation for the youths.

Note, Governor Hope Uzodimma after his inauguration as the Governor of Imo State, he embarked on massive youth empowerment programmes aimed at transforming unemployed Imo youths into productive entrepreneurs. In less than six months, more than one thousand unemployed Imo youths have been trained on entrepreneurship and skills, through the Ministry of Entrepreneurship and Skills Acquisition.
