Omo-Agege greets Ogbuagu at 63

The Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege has felicitated with a former Commissioner for Education in Delta State, Dr (Mrs) Veronica Ogbuagu on the occasion of her 63rd birthday.

In a congratulatory message personally signed by him, Senator Omo-Agege described the All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain as an accomplished teacher, counselor, compassionate mother, administrator and dependable political ally.

He applauded her for distinguishing herself in the various capacities that she served the state in particular and Nigeria in general.

“I join our people to congratulate one of Delta’s most outstanding public servants of all time, Dr. Veronica Efetemere Ogbuagu, on her 63rd birthday anniversary.

“Without question, Delta State is blessed with great men and women but your types are rare. Beginning from a very humble background, you rode your way to stardom through hardwork, dedication and the fear of God.

“In all of your doings, you made excellence a recurring quality.

“As a firm believer in justice, equity and all that is fair, your contributions towards finding and providing succour for the downtrodden, especially women and adolescents will remain footprints on the sands of time.

“In your days as the Delta State Commissioner for Education, you never disappointed in your fight against one of the biggest ills facing our educational sector —examination malpractice/malfeasance. If our society were one that jealously but consciously preserves and builds on excellence, our educational sector would not be where it is today.

“Despite your achievements as represented in your multiple awards, you have remained modest. Your high sense of judgement, bravery, incorruptible nature and contentment are worthy of emulation.

“On this occasion of your birthday, I celebrate you not only for your achievements in public and private life but for the lives you have  touched and reshapened as well as the families and groups you have brought peace and restoration through your solomonic counsels and interventions.

“I wish you many more years of service to humanity”, Omo-Agege said.
