Coronavirus: Sokoto records 16 deaths, discharges over 120

At least 725 samples have been taken with 153 found to be tested positive for COVID-19 infection as at Wednesday in Sokoto State.

Briefing reporters at the end of the weekly Executive Council meeting, Commissioner of Information Isah Bajini Galadanci said over 16 deaths were recorded and 120 had been treated and discharged.

Galadanci said 1,100 are still awaiting results, adding said the state government was committed to ensuring that the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) protocols and guidelines are respected, especially the use of face masks, physical distancing and handwashing with sanitiser.

Commissioner for Lands and Housing Abubakar Bello Gwiwa said the government had approved the award of over N10 billion roads contracts to fast track its mission on urban renewal projects.
