Eighteen front line health workers in Niger state have tested positive for COVID-19 in Niger, Commissioner for Health, Dr Muhammed Makusidi has disclosed.
According to him, the 18 infected health workers were among the total recorded in the state since the outbreak of the pandemic.
He said that some of them have recovered while others are recovering.
Makunsidi made this disclosure when fielding questions from members of the Niger House of Assembly Ad-hoc committee on COVID-19 Taskforce Committee.
The Commissioner stated that over N190 million has been expended for the purchase of equipment for the treatment and containment of the virus in the state.
The Commissioner, who is the Vice Chairman of the State Taskforce on COVID-19 and the Chairman, Ahmed Ibrahim Matane were invited by the House ad-hoc committee to explain the activities and how the funds in the committee were expended.
