Former NDDC commissioner, Amioku dies

A former commissioner representing Delta State on the board of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Chief Tom Amioku, is dead.

Amioku, a chieftain of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), reportedly died on Saturday morning.

It was gathered he succumbed to an undisclosed protracted illness that had made him absent  from political activities for a long while.

The deceased was a native of Okpe council area and held other positions in the state, including being a Vice Chairman of the PDP in Delta Central Senatorial district.

He was also former Commissioner for Works in Delta state.

His death comes few days after Hon. Joyce Overah, a commissioner on the board of the Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (DESOPADEC), passed on.

Overah, a former House of Representative member, reportedly died after a brief illness, last Tuesday.
