Ondo records first COVID-19 death

One patient whose identity is yet to be ascertained has died in Ondo State from complications of COVID-19.

The deceased became the first COVID-19 victim in Ondo State.

Ondo Commissioner for Health, Dr Wahab Adegbenro, confirmed this while responding to questions in a radio programme.

Adegbenro said the deceased was a man who came into the state from Lagos State after testing positive to Coronavirus.

Adegbenro stated that the deceased has an underlying challenge of renal failure which he said worsened his case and led to his death at the state’s Infectious Disease Hospital.

He said his body would be buried in accordance with laid down rules by the NCDC and added that other COVID19 patients were in stable condition.
