UI cancels international conferences, travels over Coronavirus

Following the global coronavirus crisis, the University of Ibadan has cancelled all international conferences scheduled to hold in the institution.

It also cancelled all international travels for staff to prevent members of the university community from contracting the virus.

In a special release dated March 12, the university said all incoming and outgoing exchange programmes as well as international visits of professors, foreign partners and collaborators have been suspended till further notice.

The university advised all members of staff who are currently on exchange or participating in foreign programmes to report to the university on arrival and self-quarantine for 14 days before resuming work.

It advised all heads of departments, worship centres and others to make provision for hand washing to encourage routine washing of hands.
