Osinbajo tests negative for Coronavirus

The Vice President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo (SAN), has tested negative to the dreaded Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19).

This was disclosed by his spokesman, Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity to the President, Mr Laolu Akande, in a response to media query.

In a message provided on State House Correspondents’ WhatsApp platform, Akande said “good morning sirs and ma: have been inundated with calls on whether indeed the VP had undergone a COVID19 test and the outcome. Yes he has and results negative. An official tweet would follow”.

It would be recalled that Akande had revealed in a tweet on Tuesday that the Vice President had gone on self-isolation, in observance of the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control’s (NCDC) protocol.

“VP Osinbajo yesterday at the office conducted his meetings via video conferencing, while observing social distancing. Today, he continues his work from the home office, as he is in self-isolation in accordance with NCDC protocols”, the tweet read.

It was observed during the office hours on Tuesday that the Vice President was not at his office in the State House, but Akande’s tweet, which Professor Osinbajo also retweeted, revealed that he had entered self-isolation.
