One dead, five injured as gunmen attack Bauchi community

One person has been reportedly killed and five injured after gunmen attacked Ragwam-Magwanshia community in Katagum local government area of Bauchi state.

A member representing Katagum Federal Constituency in Bauchi State, Umar Abdulkadir Sarki disclosed this in a statement issued on Tuesday.

He commiserated with the affected victims of the attack, which occured on Sunday.

The lawmaker described the attack as “barbaric and a devastating tragedy not only for families and friends of the victims, but also for the Katagum as a Constituency and Bauchi state as a whole.

“As the families of the unfortunate victims mourn, I will like to use this medium to extend my heartfelt condolences and sympathies to them at this very difficult and trying moment and pray that Allah comfort and give them the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss” the statement reads.”

Sarki also commiserated with the District head of Ragwam, Emir of Katagum and Bauchi state government, urging them not to relent in prayers for the souls of the departed souls and their families.

He added that his foundation FARAR TAFIYA FOUNDATION will foot the medical bills of the five victims admitted at Federal Medical Centre, Azare.

The state acting police spokesman, ASP Umar Magaji when contacted said he was going to get back to our reporter later.
