Man in court for ‘receiving’ stolen phone

A 36-year-old man, Joseph Kareem, on Tuesday appeared before an Ikeja, Lagos Magistrates’ Court for allegedly being in possession of a stolen cell phone.

Prosecutor Evenly Ehiemua told the court that Kareem committed the offence in November, 2018, in the Abule-Egba area of the state.

According to the prosecutor, the defendant conspired with some others, now at large, to receive the phone knowing that the item was stolen.

The defendant denied the charges.

Magistrate, Mrs O.A. Daodu, granted the defendant bail of N50,000 with two sureties in like sum.

Daodu adjourned the case until March 26 for mention.
