Court remands man for allegedly stealing mobile phone

An Ile-Ife Magistrates’ Court in Osun, on Friday, remanded one Victor Jorma, 24, over alleged theft of a Techno Camon-11 mobile phone.

The Prosecutor, Insp. Elijah Adesina, told the court that the defendant committed the offence on Feb. 21, around 8.30 pm. at “O ti Seese Cool Spot”, Ilesa Road, Ile-Ife.

Adesina said that the defendant entered into the place with the intent to commit felony therein.

He added that the defendant stole one Techno Camon 11 mobile phone, valued at N44,000, property of one Afolabi Olamilekan.

According to him, the offences contravene Sections 383, 390(9) and 411 of the Criminal Code, Laws of Osun, 2002.

The defendant, who was not legally represented, pleaded not guilty to the two-count charge, bordering on felony and stealing.

The Magistrate, Bose Idowu, did not grant bail to the defendant.

She ordered that the defendant be remanded in a custodial centre and, thereafter, adjourned the case till March 6, for hearing.
