Coronavirus: Pastor Adeboye donates medical supplies to Lagos

In order to contain the COVID-19 pandemic, the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor Enoch Adeboye has again donated essential medical supplies to Lagos State.

The items include 200,000 hand gloves, 8,000 hand sanitizers and 8,000 surgical face masks.

The donation was presented at Mainland Hospital, Yaba by the Assistant General Overseer, Admin/Personnel RCCG, Pastor Johnson Funsho Odesola.

Speaking at the event, Odesola said the donation is to support the efforts of the Lagos State Government in equipping the medical staff with necessary protective gears needed to contain the disease.

“We commend the sacrifices that all medical personnel are taking at this time, the church continues to pray for them as they give their sacrifice of love even the RCCG as a church agrees that combating COVID-19 is by no means a work for all.

“The global nations are in challenging time and the Redeemed Christian Church, as a faith-based organization, we should be part of the solution. We are joining the force to fight this pandemic.”

He added that the church through its CSR arm has been concerned about the loss of lives due to inadequate healthcare facilities in the country and had provided various health intervention activities.

While receiving the donations on behalf of the Lagos Government, the Director, Epidemiology, Biosecurity, and Global Health and Incident Manager COVID-19 Outbreak, Lagos State Emergency Operations Centre (EOC), Dr Ismail Abdul-Salam appreciate the gesture by the church.

“On behalf of the Governor of Lagos State, Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu Sanwo olu and Hon. Minister of Health , Lagos, Prof Akin Abayomi, we really appreciate this donation. It is very timing.

The government is doing enough but we appreciate every corporate body who support in curbing this pandemic.”

Adeboye recently donated Intensive Care Unit beds with ventilators to Lagos, Ogun and Plateau State governments.
