Landlords stop road construction in Edo over poor drainage

Over 50 landlords in St Savior road and eight adjoining streets on Monday morning stopped further construction of the road project.

The construction workers had resumed work after the New Year holiday but the landlords comprising old men and women seized their vehicles and prevented them from working.

Some youths carried placards depicting various inscriptions.

They said the construction firm must explain where the flood water will be channelled to.

The landlords said that many of them fled their homes due to flooding occasioned by the road construction.
