Kaduna Police nab notorious kidnapper, rescue 13-year-old, 7 other captives

Kaduna Police Command has arrested a notorious kidnapper after rescuing a 13-year-old boy and seven other victims in two separate operation in Rigasa, Maguzawa and Gurguzu Forests all in Kaduna State.

The kidnapper identified as Mustapha Ibrahim said to be a resident of Daura Road was on his way to deliver the victim, Abubakar Aminu of Maraban Rido Village Chukun L.G.A Kaduna State to his gang members when he was nabbed.

The Public in a statement by its Public Relations Officer, DSP Yakubu Sabo, said the suspect subsequently led the operatives to rescue two other victims in their criminal hideout namely Ismaila Hussaini and Hussaini Umar residing at Ado-Gwaram area of Rigasa Kaduna.

The statement reads: “On 29th October, 2019 at about 8.30pm, a combined teams of Police Operatives from Rigasa, Nariya Divisions and personnel of the Command’s operation department acting on reliable tip off, swung into action and succeeded in arresting a suspected notorious kidnapper one Mustapha Ibrahim of Daura Road Rigasa Kaduna red handed, with a kidnapped victim one Abubakar Aminu a 13 year old boy of Maraban Rido Village Chukun L.G.A Kaduna State on his way to deliver the victim to his gang members.”

He said the command was currently on the trail of other gang members for possible arrest and prosecution.

Sabo further noted: “In addition to the above success, the operatives of the command in continuation of the current onslaught against all identified bandits camps in the state, the operation at Maguzawa and Gurguzu Forests recorded another milestone on 31st October, 2019 with the successful rescue of another set of five kidnap victims after storming some bandits camps at about 1.30 and engaged them in a fierce gun duel.

“While the suspected bandits escaped with bullet wounds, the following captives were successfully rescued by our operatives, they are; Sada Abdullahi. Maimuna Umar Sharif, Ismail Umar Sharif, Aisha Umar Sharif and Husaini Umar Sharif all adult of Nariya Village Chukun L.G.A Kaduna State.”

The PPRO said Commissioner of Police, Ali Aji Janga called on the general public to keep supporting the police with prompt and reliable information so as to enable the command nip crime in the bud in a bid to restore public order and ensure adequate protection of lives and property of citizens in the entire state.
