Buhari presides over FEC meeting

President Muhammadu Buhari on Wednesday presided over the Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting.

The meeting started at the Council Chamber of the Presidential Villa, Abuja around 11am.

This was his first FEC meeting after returning to Nigeria last Friday from London where he went on a private visit.

The opening Christian prayer was said by Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi while the Minister of Education, Adamu Adamu offered the Muslim prayer.

Before the commencement of the meeting proper, a minute silence was observed for former Secretary to the Federal Government, (SGF) Chief Ufot Ekaette, who passed on at the age of 80.

Also, a minute silence was observed for former Minister of Information, Chief Alex Opeyemi Akinyele, who passed at the age of 81.

In attendance at the meeting are Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, almost all ministers, Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Boss Mustapha and National Security Adviser, Maj. Gen. Babagana Monguno (rtd).
