Magu Charges Staff To Uphold EFCC’s Core Values

The Acting Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Ibrahim Magu has charged officers of the Benin Zonal Office to continuously uphold the core values of the Commission in the discharge of their duties.

Magu gave this charge on Monday, September 9, 2019 when he paid a working visit to the Benin Zonal Office of the Commission.

The EFCC boss who was represented by the Director of Operations, Umar M. Mohammed admonished staff to uphold the Commission’s core values of integrity, professionalism and courage and make it their watchword.

According to him, “The bedrock of any organisation is that staff are disciplined, exibit high level of professionalism in all remification and abide by the rules and regulations”. He warned staff of the Commission against any act of corruption and to always do the right thing at the right time.

The EFCC boss further admonished officers of the Zone to be circumspect and to thoroughly verify cases reported by whistle blowers to ensure the authenticity of their claims before taking any action. “Always do a thorough investigation of claims of whistle blowers before action to avoid any embarrassment”.

He commended the Zone for its outstanding performance in securing 53 convictions so far in 2019.
