ICPC seals Pinnick, Dikko’s houses in fresh corruption probe

The Independent Corrupt Practices and other Related Offences Commission on Friday sealed houses belonging to the President of the Nigeria Football Federation, Amaju Pinnick, and NFF 2nd vice president, Shehu Dikko, over fresh corruption allegations.

Dikko’s house, located on 1, River Benue Close, Maitama, Abuja, was sealed on Friday morning, before officials of the ICPC again proceeded to seal Pinnick’s mansion in Park view Estate, Lagos, in the afternoon.

The ICPC confirmed both residences belonging to Dikko and Pinnick have been placed under investigation in a post on Twitter on Friday.

This development comes amidst fresh allegations of misappropriation of funds meant for the development of Nigerian football levied against the NFF and its leadership.

Spokesperson of the ICPC, Rasheedat Okoduwa, told newsmen that the houses were sealed by the agency after fresh evidence of corruption against the NFF bigwigs emerged.

“We have fresh information that we are working on at the moment, which involves Shehu Dikko and some other people.

“I cannot give you the details of the information at the moment because we are carrying out due investigation; releasing such details will enable others who we have on the list tighten up and hide some of the documents that will be helpful,” the spokesperson said.

Just last month, anti-corruption agency Economic and Financial Crimes Commission detained Dikko and general secretary of the football body Mohammed Sanusi briefly over alleged mismanagement of sponsorship monies running into billions of naira, before both were later granted bail.
